Raining inspiration

'Clearing skies, Sandymount' 20x60cm   Here are a couple of my latest oil paintings which all have a winter feel about them, don't ask me why! I just love painting this long, narrow, horizontal shape and I'm really pleased with how these have turned out, what do you think?  'Between showers, Sandymount' 20x76cm I enjoyed a break from the heat- in my mind anyway- to paint these hardy souls, braving the cold wet weather, for a brisk winter walk along the wet sandy beach. The dog has to be walked after all! Now back to the summer! -Ann See more of...

I love to visit Provence and try to go at least once a year, last summer on a painting trip, I was lucky to explore the beautiful gardens at St...

Spring, my favourite time of year!

Spring, my favourite time of year!

'Trinity College, Dublin' 30x30cm Click here for more information about this painting.   I'm so glad it's almost time to change the clocks and look forward to the longer days ahead. This extra hour of daylight gives me more time to work in the studio as the days go on. On dark winter afternoons I use a daylight lamp to simulate natural light, but nothing compares to the real thing and I find myself hanging on to the last rays as I try to get an area finished. Here's one of my latest paintings,  a scene of Trinity College Dublin from...
